Voilą! This is my entry to the Kick Flip for a Cause contest. I have chosen Tonight Alive as the band to design for as I have chosen a punky theme for my design.
I wanted to make something really really awesome, I am a skater myself so Ive seen alot of designs and a lot of styles so I wanted to create something original, something that looks as sick standing still as it does when its doing a tray flip or a sweet k-grind.
The overall style I have chosen is a dark vexel punk design, I wanted to show what skateboarding is about, danger, thrills and sticking it to the man but also looking as cool as possible.
I finally got round to designing the final design for the contest and I have went all out, Id like to thank everyone for their advice on my 1st draft.
I hope you guys enjoy this piece, If you like it please give me a fav or have anything to say drop me a comment

Everything in this picture apart from the Tonight Alive Logo, The Hooligans Skateboard Logo and the Skate Deck Template has been made by me.
This is MUCH better! The quality is b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l. I love the cleanness of it all, very professional. I also see that you took 's advice on the skull. It seems a /bit/ amateur, but at the same time it gives the picture a great boost in technique. (I can tell you're more skilled in abstract, so practice!) The bones on the bottom seem very "copy pasted" as well, but I need to remind myself that this is about concept, and that they'll probably let you edit it for use (Just like the monster t shirt contest with the giant monster spam shirt)
The diamonds in the blood is a very nice touch, I'm sure it's a metaphor for something (the whole piece) but I'm too brain dead to figure it out atm, LOL.
The fact that you flipped the diamonds on the bottom half is great. I can imagine someone holding their board upside down while keeping the concept strongly in place. It seems to be missing your logo though! (Looks great either way)
The shades of red are nice, a huge step up from your dark red/red gradient use on your old one. Well done!
Overall-- you improved a lot compared to your last one. It seems simple, but it sticks into my mind. (I actually thought about what it meant for about 30 minutes before falling asleep a few days ago) This is something that anyone could be proud to skateboard on. Bravo!
wow, what a difference from the first! i have to say, you've made a huge improvement here!
the difference in tone of the diamonds at the top make it look as though they are actually sitting in the "blood" of the stripes, and you added some difference of tone in the stripes flowing down, which really added to the overall design. the tilt of the diamond in the center was a great touch also, because it makes it look as the the diamond is one of the ones that is falling.
i like the design change in the skill--it's simplistic, yet edgy, and therefore really sits nicely with the rest of the board.
the designs at the bottom kept the original differences between the top and bottom of the board, which makes it pleasing to the eye, and the bones sitting at the bottom strengthen the the words at at the center of the board: "tonight alive".
overall, this is a great improvement, and you really took the critiques that were given to you, and used them to construct an even better design. it's one thing to create something unique like this--it's another to actually listen to critisims given.
